2008 Sunset Times

A very important part of planning your day is the timings. Choosing your ceremony time and reception start time is an important part of the planning process and must be done carefully to ensure that there is sufficient time to get great photos. If you start your ceremony too late you may not have enough time to get photos before the reception starts, or you may run out of time before the sun goes down.

Often when planning the big day Bride's may ask about sunset times to help plan the timings for the day. Sunset times are a great guide; however, more important is what is called twilight time.

Many of photos that our Bride's love feature very dramatic and colourful skies. You might be surprised to know that the majority of these photos are taken after the official sunset time. To capture the best photos we always refer to the twilight time for your wedding day. Twilight is that time after sunset where the light takes on a beautiful, soft, romantic quality. It has long been referred to by photographers and painters as the "blue hour" and it is the best time of day to get photos that really complement a wedding day.

The link below shows the twilight times for 2008. This is the absolute latest time that you would be able to get photos on your wedding day (we actually work on about 5-10 mins less than this to stop shooting). To get an idea of the official sunset time for your wedding day subtract about 25 mins off the twilight time.
